If you?re looking for a fast way to cleanse your colon, detoxify your liver, and keep the rest of your body healthy, why not try a coffee enema? This alternative wellness practice has been around since the 1930s but it has been enjoying peak popularity in recent years.
In this article, we will discuss everything there is to know about coffee enema, and how you can easily include it as part of your holistic wellness routine.
What is a coffee enema?
If you are suffering from constipation, toxic liver or you simply want to enhance your general health and wellness condition, take coffee enemas for a spin. It?s one of the few natural procedures that can effectively remove toxins and poisons from the body without posing serious side effects or complications in the body.
The practice of using enema for detox dates back to early 1600BC. Evidence of our ancestors using enema for detox were well documented in the Egyptian scriptures. Wellness practitioners from thousands of years and those who practice at present profess that using coffee for enema is the best healing and detox system for the entire body.
Indications for Coffee Enema
Coffee enema can help prevent and treat symptoms related to the following conditions:
- Candida infection
- People with mental conditions such as anxiety attacks
- Indigestion issues
- Low glutathione levels in the body
- Low energy levels
- Constipation
- Hormone imbalances
- Brain fog
- Mood swings
- Chronic pain
- Skin breakouts such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema
People who wish to lose excess weight, those suffering from common gastrointestinal issues, and those diagnosed with autoimmune conditions are advised to include coffee enema as part of their treatment and management strategies, too.
How does coffee enema work?
Like it or not, we are surrounded by toxins and there is no escape from them. No matter how clean our homes are, or how hard we clean our bodies or brush our teeth, at some point, our body ultimately still absorbs them. In order to eliminate toxins from the body in an effective manner, coffee detox should be utilised.
Coffee detox as one of the greatest detoxing methods is a process that involves the introduction of coffee ingredients into the liver. Once the coffee solution reaches the large intestine, it gets absorbed by the bloodstream and into the liver. It also stimulates the gallbladder to produce enzymes that help kill free radicals and toxic wastes in a fast and natural manner.
Glutathione S-tranferase is an antioxidant that the body produces to assist in healing and recovery. The primary role of glutathione S-transferase is to flush out toxins that natural detox pathways fail to eliminate.
One great advantage of coffee enema is that it helps the gallbladder, which is the primary organ that supports the liver in eliminating toxins from the body. Once toxins are cleared from the liver, they are directed to the gallbladder. It is the job of the gallbladder to ?take out the trash? permanently.
In summary, coffee enema works two ways:
- Helps the liver in clearing out toxins from the bloodstream
- Finds the best method to eliminate all toxins that have been processed in the liver
How do you perform a coffee enema?
Administering a coffee enema is similar to regular, tap water enema. The only difference is that during a coffee enema, you are using liquid coffee solution instead of distilled water. However, bear in mind that tap water enema is a requirement prior to performing coffee enema. This is to ensure that the large intestine is cleaner thus ensuring more efficient absorption of coffee into the bloodstream.
It is a requirement for you to purchase your own enema kit. You cannot borrow an enema kit from a loved one. Even a family member can?t lend you their kits.
Here are the main processes involved in a coffee enema:
- Preparing the coffee solution
- Injection of the solution into the colon via the rectum
- Evacuation of bowels
It is important to note that a coffee enema session is not limited to just one cycle. You need to repeat a coffee solution three times for best results.
To ensure good hygiene and avoid contamination, we suggest washing and disinfecting the enema kit parts as soon as you?re done with the session.
Coffee enema kits are quite inexpensive. You can buy disposable kits for less than $20 and superior enema kits for less than $100. The type of coffee enema kit to buy will greatly depend on your budget and your personal preferences too.
Here are tips when doing a coffee enema
- Do your best to follow all instructions
Coffee enema is a retention enema. This means that you need to retain the coffee solution inside the colon for at least 15 minutes. Evacuating your bowels in less than this prescribed time will not have a detox effect on your liver.
For first timers, retaining coffee for 15 minutes can be extremely difficult given that foreign objects inside the bowels is undeniably irritating. You can practice keeping the liquid inside by retaining it for 3 to 4 minutes during your first enema session. You will then increase the retention until you can hold it in for 15 minutes straight.
- Good hygiene is a requirement
When choosing between coffee enema sets, we highly recommend that you purchase a stainless steel enema bucket for the liquid solution. A glass enema bucket is also an option. ?Quality glass and stainless steel buckets are recommended as they do not react when coming into contact with the acids found in coffee. Rubber or plastic enema bags may react when coffee solution is poured into them. In addition, plastic and rubber enema bags retain moisture that is difficult to get rid of. Plastic can leech, whereas glass and stainless steel don?t.
Wash and disinfect your enema kit after ever use. Make sure to sterilise the equipment and dry ?it well before storing. Ideally, your enema kit parts should be kept in a safe and dry place.
- Do not perform a coffee enema when you?re suffering from extreme constipation
If your main goal is constipation relief, we highly recommend that you stick with tap water enema instead. The coffee enema procedure was created for liver detox purposes and not for colon cleansing. Therefore, performing coffee enema won?t be as effective in softening putrefied wastes inside the colon.
If you want to hit two birds with one stone, we highly suggest that you perform a short tap water cleansing enema before a coffee enema session.
- Use the coffee at room temperature
You need to be relaxed when doing an enema at home. Dedicate an hour or two for it. Don?t rush into introducing a coffee solution into your colon. Let your liquid coffee cool down at room temperature before your first injection.
Using coffee which is too hot can cause perforations or burns in the rectum and colon. Do not use liquid coffee that is too cold either, as this may shock your internal organs.
Do not forget to strain the liquid coffee after boiling.
- Use dark roast coffee for enemas
You will need to use organic dark roast coffee. The compounds in dark roast coffee beans stimulate the release of natural oils as well as increase the production of glutathione S-transferase.
- Do not forget to use binders
You should optimise the liver detox cleansing process by using binders before sessions. For instance, you may choose to use chlorella or activated charcoal as binders. Take them 15 minutes before you start the enema. The primary function of binders is to absorb bile and prevent it from being reabsorbed into our system.
Do not forget to drink water before, during, and after the procedure for hydration purposes.
Whilst coffee enema brings a host of benefits to people who use it, you should remember that it?s not a cure but an alternative therapy that should be used in combination with prescribed medication. You should also ask your physician whether it is safe for you to perform a coffee enema.
